The national beach football team was defeated by the Spanish squad 5-1 in the 2010 World Championship quarterfinals and was eliminated from the competition, Info-Prim Neo reports. Juanma (two times), Joaquin, Pajon and Kuman scored for Spain, while Dorin Coceban for Moldova. In the preliminary group, Moldova won three victories, against Poland, Austria and Norway. The Moldovan footballers coached by Veaceslav Rusnac made their debut in an official competition. Their performance in the preliminaries held in Italy surprised many people.
