Moldova's Declaration of Independence will be restored

The Declaration of Independence of Moldova will be resurrected at the April 17 sitting of the Parliament, when it will be marked 20 years of the constitution of the first legislative body. The sitting will be attended by the members of the first Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We wait for the verdict of the Prosecutor General's Office. It is to say what's happened to the original text of the Declaration of Independence that was allegedly destroyed during the April 2009 events,” Pantelei Sandulache, chairman of “Parlamentul 90” Association, said in a news conference on Thursday. The Declaration will be signed in original by the members of the first legislature who are alive. The preparations for the April 17 festive sitting are under way. The Association “Parlamentul 90” informed about the disappearance of the Declaration of Independence immediately after the April 7 events. The members of the first legislative body asked the Prosecutor's Office to reconstruct the circumstances of the incident. They said then the Declaration was burned intentionally.
