From December 1, the embassies and consulates of Moldova will not accept applications for being issued with ordinary passports, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. Currently, the Ministry, in concert with the state-run Information Resources Center “Registru” and the Special Telecommunications Center, is taking all the measures needed to provide Moldova’s embassies and consulates with special equipment for collecting biometric data. After January 1, 2012, all the embassies and consulates will issue only biometric passports.
