The national telephony operator Moldtelecom has opened special lines to collect donations for the people affected by recent floods, the company said in a press release quoted by Info-Prim Neo. In the period from July 10 to August 11, Moldtelecom clients are encouraged to dial or send short messages to these special numbers at a rate of 8 lei per call or SMS in order to donate. The number where [Unite] mobile telephony and [Amplus] fixed telephony clients can send their short messages to is [7474]. Standard fixed telephony clients are asked to dial [0 900 77774]. The collected money will be transferred to the Ministry of Finance, which will subsequently dole it out to the people in distress. Also, Moldtelecom offered 5 units of heavy duty vehicles for the construction of protection dams. On Thursday, Moldtelecom donated 100,000 lei for disaster relief efforts. The company calls on all the benevolent people to show compassion in these difficult moments.
