S.A. Moldtelecom issued a statement, saying the information about the monthly pay of the company's director general Vitalie Iurcu, broadcast by Jurnal Trust Media, is erroneous and is aimed at misleading the people and damaging the image of the national telecoms carrier, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the statement. The publication Jurnal de Chisinau on May 21and the TV channel Jurnal TV in a program on May 30 made public the information that the director general of Moldtelecom has a monthly salary of 80,000 lei. The company's press service expresses its regret at the fact that the journalists of Jurnal Trust Media did not verify the information and did not ask the carrier to comment. For this and other reasons, the journalists committed regrettable mistakes and violated the Journalist's Code of Conduct. The statement says the salary of the director general of S.A. Moldtelecom is 16,380 lei, not 80,000 lei. The press service of the telecoms carrier says the top managers of the other telecommunications companies should also make public their salaries so as to make a comparison.
