The eligibility ceiling for calculating the score of the welfare indicators in the program to set and pay social welfare was increased by 2.82 points. The provision will start to be applied on January 1, 2021, when this score will be 91.28 points, as opposed to 88.46 points at present. A decision to this effect was taken by the Cabinet, IPN reports.

Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu said the updating of the welfare indicator determining system will enable to include 1,800 families more for social welfare and 2,350 families more for cold-month allowances, for five months.

The costs are estimated at 29.6 million lei: 23.7 million lei for new recipients of social welfare and 5.9 million lei for those who will receive cold-month allowances.

The average social welfare is now 1,098 lei, while the cold-month allowance is 500 lei.
