More than half of the people in Moldova are not satisfied with the way they live. According to a survey conducted in January by the Marketing and Polling Institute IMAS, this opinion was shared by 55 percent of respondents, while 25 percent said they were satisfied, 16 percent not satisfied at all, 3 percent had no answer, and only one percent said they were very satisfied, Info-Prim Neo reports.
A total of 60 percent described the current times in Moldova with the words “dissatisfaction”, “despair” and “disappointment”, including 27% “dissatisfaction”, 23% “disappointment”, and 11% “despair”. However, 30% were more optimistic, choosing the word “hope”. Only 0.3% mentioned “happiness”.
Asked how their living was compared with last year, almost a half – 49 percent – said it was the same. 33% of respondents said their living got worse, 9% much worse, 8% better, 2% gave no answer, and only 0.3% said their lives got much better.
Almost 48 percent think 2011 was neither a good nor a bad year. The share of those who think 2011 was a bad year for Moldova increased significantly, from 32 percent in March to 41 percent in December. Only 9 percent said 2011 was a good year.
62 percent think things in Moldova are going in a wrong direction and only 22 percent think things are going in the right direction, while 17 percent gave no answer.
The survey called “The sociopolitical round-up 2011” was conducted on a sample of 1,109 respondents from 75 selected settlements and commissioned by www.politik.md. The maximum sampling margin of error is ±3,0%.
