Most offenses on border blamed on drunk driving

During the winter holiday season, most offenses committed on the border were coupled with drunk driving, Info-Prim Neo learned from the Moldovan Border Guards Service. On the Moldo-Ukrainian border, at the Briceni checkpoint, the border guards arrested a man driving a Mercedes car with Russian tags. The driver was heavily drunk and didn't stop until he crushed the car into the roadblock. In the absence of any papers, the man introduced himself as Marcel of Grimancauti. Although still aware of his name, his condition was so bad that he couldn't tell his birth year. Also on the Moldo-Ukrainian border, near Criva village, the border guards arrested three Ukrainian nationals as they attempted to cross the border illegally in a car and in advanced state of drunkenness. Another man caught drunk behind the wheel was a Ukrainian national who tried to enter Moldova through the Giurgiulesti checkpoint.
