MP Gheorghe Brega admits there are violations in medication testing
MP Gheorghe Brega, head of the Investigation Commission on the pharmaceutics market, admits there are some violations to the procedure of testing medications, reports Info-Prim Neo.
“This is not a problem, there are some violations, but they are in other matters. We will talk about them at the commission”, stated Gheorghe Brega during the Friday, October 12, meeting of the Parliament, after the PCRM requested the debriefing of Minister of Healthcare and Prosecutor General in regards to some information that the National Psychiatry Hospital would illegally test some medications on patients. According to Gheorghe Brega, since 2008 until present 51 drugs have been tested in Moldova, all of them legally.
Former Minister of Healthcare, MP Vladimir Hotineanu said that 190,000 products are under testing throughout the world, of which 100,000 in the United States of America. “Moldova tests only 2-3 products, and I've said it before, it is a great honor when a country is chosen for testing. This group (PCRM) already tries to drive the society in hysteria”, mentioned Vladimir Hotineanu.
Communist MP Grigore Petrenco requested the debriefing of Minister of Healthcare Andrei Usatii, and of Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubco, claiming that patients with psychical deficiencies are being used as drug testers at the National Clinical Psychiatry Hospital, without the consent of the patients' relatives.
