Chisinau's municipal health department has announced it will sue the city's heat supplier for having caused financial losses to the medical establishments when the utility disrupted heat supply, Info-Prim Neo reports. Health department head Mihai Moldovanu told a City Hall's meeting on Monday that during the period when the heat supply was halted 125 parents refused to place their children in Valentin Ignatenco Hospital for treatment, and that amounted to financial loss. Dr. Moldovanu didn't tell the exact sum, but mentioned that other medical establishments experienced the same situation. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Termocom's spokesperson Raisa Popa said the utility would refrain from making statements on the subject before the proceedings start. This year the heating season for the medical institutions started on October 27. A week later Termocom disrupted supplies in two districts of the city and in its suburbs, arguing that Moldovagaz had halted gas supplies over accumulated debt. Heat supplies resumed on November 12.
