The Municipality awarded on Friday Chisinau's best athletes who managed to obtain good results at international competitions, Info-Prim Neo reports. Head of the division for education, youth and sports Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said that 11 athletes from various fields obtained 2000 lei awards. She remarked that the award festivity in the eve of winter holidays became a tradition. One of the athletes who received an award is Cristina Iovu, who obtained the bronze medal at weightlifting in the 53 kg category at the London Olympics, gold medals at the senior and junior European championships and the supreme title at the World Championship of Universities. Another recipient of the awards was Stefan Rosca, who occupied the 9th place at the Paralympic Games.
