People from different parts of the country want the fir from their yard to become the main Christmas Tree in the Great National Assembly Square. They hurried to present their offers to the Chisinau authorities.
Deputy chief of the Green Spaces Association Galina Leahu told Info-Prim Neo that most of the offers came from the districts of Orhei and Leova. People say they have tall firs that would be perfect for the Christmas Tree in the center of the capital.
Those who offered their firs for sale said they were willing to cut them because the trees were already old. One of these people claimed he had a tree of 28 meters. The Green Spaces will examine all the offers, but will also consider the idea of installing an artificial Christmas Tree.
Last year, the fir was brought in the Great National Assembly Square on November 26 and the inauguration of winter holidays was on December 1. The tree was brought from Bozieni, Hancesti district at a cost of 11,000 lei. The fir, its platform counted, was around 26 meters tall.
