The National Museum of Romanian Literature in Chisinau inaugurated an exhibition entitled "My blood brothers, if we got here, There is no death that would kill us", dedicated to writer Leonida Lari, who would have celebrated her 75th birthday on October 26, IPN reports.
The exhibits include collections of books, manuscripts, documents, photographs and fine art works. The inauguration ceremony involved writers Ion Hadîrcă, Vladimir Beșleagă, director of the Romanian Cultural Institute "Mihai Eminescu" Monica Babuc, vice-president of the Writers' Union of Moldova Ivan Pilchin, as well as actor Mihai Iorga, the husband of the late Leonida Lari.
"She was a mother, she was a poet, she was a human. When needed, not only Leonida, but also many writers, and not just writers, took a stand. At that time, it was not easy, and the family felt it too, but it had the necessary strength," said Mihai Iorga.
Poet Leonida Lari was born on October 26, 1949 in Bursuceni village of Sângerei district. She was also a politician and campaigned for the reunion of Bessarabia with Romania. Leonida Lari died at the age of 62.
