The State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu” kicked off the scientific conferences dedicated to the 70th anniversary of its foundation. The conferences are divided into several sections and bring together tens of students, residents and teachers. The addressed themes include the fundamental problems faced in public health, internal medicine and surgery. The students, together with teachers, present bachelor’s and doctor’s theses and practical studies, IPN reports.
“Today we want to discuss the topical problems experienced in public health and management. Both teachers and students will present a series of works on different issues. These works are based on new, research approaches because this area is too broad to be fully covered. It is closely connected with the health protection reform and all the processes that need to be rethought,” said pro-rector Oleg Lozan.
On October 5, resident doctor Irina Ciubotaru presented a work entitled “Safety of patients and invasive procedures”. She found out that the number of infections acquired in medical institutions in Moldova is on the rise. To reduce the number of nosocomial infections, the resident proposed more thoroughly examining the pathogens circulating in hospitals.
The anniversary program also includes the simulation competition “SimOlympic” and the Freshers’ Ball on October 7 and the festivity dedicated to the anniversary on October 8. On October 9, there will be inaugurated the Alley of Illustrious Scientists and Doctors.
