The explosive ordnance disposal technicians of the National Army in the course of July annihilated 62 explosive devices and 1,500 cartridges of different calibers in the municipalities of Chisinau and Bălți. Such missions were also performed in the districts of Anenii Noi, Ialoveni and Ștefan Vodă, IPN reports.

According to the head of the Bomb Service of the National Army, lieutenant-colonel Igor Livitki, the most recent bomb disposal operation was performed by the team of the Bomb Disposal Battalion “Codru” led by captain Mihail Josan. As a result of field works, a number of explosive devices dating from World War II were found near Răscăieți village of Ștefan Vodă district. These were destroyed in conditions of maximum safety.

So far this year, the explosive ordnance disposal technicians of the National Army performed 111 operations as a result of which they disposed of 297 explosive devices of different types and 11,026 cartridges.
