National Army commander on official visit to China
The commander of the National Army, Division General Ion Coropcean is paying an official visit to China between September 21 and 28, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Ministry of Defense.
According to lieutenant colonel Sergiu Casapciuc, of the Strategic Planning Division, while in China Ion Coropcean will have meetings with the National Defense Minister, General Liang Guanglie and the General Staff Head, General Chen Bingde.
Casapciuc said that the officials will discuss subjects concerning military training, development of the capacity for participating in international peacekeeping operations and of the information system, etc.
The Moldovan delegation will also visit the College of Defense Studies of the Beijing National University of Defense, where they will familiarize themselves with the program and system for preparing military personnel and the living and working conditions of the military men of the Nanjing and Shanghai garrisons.
During 2002-2004, China had donated two batches of calculation and medical equipment to the value of 10 million yuan to the Ministry of Defense. In 2009, the National Army received calculation equipment worth 3,000,000 yuan in non-reimbursable aid from China.
