National Employment Agency to be reorganized

The concept for modernizing the National Employment Agency was presented in a working meeting chaired by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

“The employment sector inherited a Soviet, outdated approach that is rather mechanical and implies only the passive recording of the unemployed and payment of employment benefit. I saw no clear development strategy. We all ascertained that this is an inert body,” stated the Premier.

Among the reasons invoked for reorganizing the institution were the low output of the agency, the high discrepancy between the demand and supply on the labor market, the poor training of the labor force and the massive fluctuation of personnel.

The reformation of the National Employment Agency is also stipulated in the law on the promotion of employment and employment benefit that was adopted on August 10 this year and will take effect on February 10 next year. Until then, there will be worked out and approved the new structure and activity regulations of the agency.

The National Employment Agency has 335 employees.
