The Ministry of Environment and the National Office for the Implementation of Environmental Projects kicked off an information campaign titled “The National Environmental Fund, from money to environmental improvement actions”. The campaign comes to inform local authorities, economic agents and the citizens about the possibility of obtaining funding to solve environmental problems, IPN reports.
Aliona Rusnac, State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, said that Moldova faces challenges in the fields of environment and climate change. The objective of the campaign is to persuade as many people as possible to get informed about environmental projects, in such areas as integrated waste management, biodiversity protection, climate change, water resources management.
Nicolae Arnăut, director of the National Office for the Implementation of Environmental Projects, noted that the call was launched last summer and over 260 concept notes were presented. Projects were submitted at the next stage and 107 projects were selected for being implemented in 2024-2026. Most projects are related to integrated waste management. A sum of 175 million lei will be allocated from the National Environmental Fund for the selected projects this year
