National Extraordinary Public Health Commission adopts new decisions

Kindergartens will not be reopened earlier than September 1 and the self-isolation regime for persons who cross Moldova’s border will be applied at least until August 7, the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission decided on July 24. It also decided that the state of public health emergency will be in effect until August 31, IPN reports.

After the Commission’s meeting, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said the organization of events that will involve at most 50 persons will be allowed, except for wedding parties and christening ceremonies.

“The persons older than 63 cannot go out without an urgent necessity. The playgrounds, sports grounds, amusement parks and places of recreation will not be opened, as will not be the nightclubs and discos, regardless of the name and type of the commercial unit,” stated Premier Chicu.

The cultural events in the open air authorized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, with a limited number of spectators, will be resumed on August 1. The open-year tourist and recreational activities will be allowed, but with the involvement of at most ten persons.

All the national sports federations can restart sports competitions and training in closed areas on August 1, but without spectators.

“Our hopes that the number of infections will continue to decrease haven’t come true. In such conditions, the day before yesterday we provided one more pavilion to the COVID-19 Center at Moldexpo as we could not cope with the large number of cases already,” stated the official.
