National highways are being marked
About 2,000 kilometers of road will be marked this year, up about 50% compared with the previous years. The Road Fund has allocated a sum of 15 million lei for the purpose, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Construction and Territorial Development.
Marking works have started on the major roads of the country that go to border crossing points –M1, Chisinau – Leuseni, M3, Chisinau – Cimislia – Vulcanesti – Giurgiulesti and R1 Chisinau – Ungheni – Sculeni at the border with Romania; M2, Chisinau – Soroca at the border with Ukraine, and M21 and R2 on the Chisinau – Dubasari – Poltava and Chisinau – Bender routes.
The works are carried out by Rutador SRL, which won a public tender contest. The company has three teams of personnel and modern marking equipment.
The horizontal line is marked with special reflective paint. The guarantee period is between 6 and 10 months, depending on the intensity of traffic.
About 300 kilometers of road have been marked so far. The works might continue until October.
