The Cabinet approved the national program of activities on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the declaration of Moldova’s independence entitled “Moldova-25”, IPN reports.
To improve the repute and promote the image of Moldova aboard, the Government will stage a number of events dedicated to this anniversary. According to the program, the activities will start in May and will end in December. Different cultural, scientific, educational and sporting events will be held in the period.
On August 27, when 25 years of the declaration of Moldova’s independence will be marked, there will be staged the most important events, including a military parade and other festivities in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau and laying of flowers at the monuments to the Grieving Mother and to Stephan the Great and Holy. An International Book Fair will be mounted on the National Language Day celebrated on August 31. Activities dedicated to the National Costume’s Day will be carried out in June.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the declaration of Moldova’s independence, there will be issued anniversary postage stamps and a commemorative coin. A documentary film will be made and the Encyclopedia of the Republic of Moldova will be launched.
