The National Program of Economic Development by Reindustrialization for 2016-2020 is to be finalized in about three months. On March 25, the draft program was proposed for public debates by the Processing Industry Employers Association, IPN reports.
Rector of the Academy of Economic Education of Moldova Grigore Belostecinic, as the moderator of the meeting, welcomed the drafting of this document, especially amid the drastic reduction in the industry’s contribution to the formation of the GDP over the last few years. He also welcomed the fact that the program was put forward by an employers association, not by the Government as usual.
The program envisions the revitalization of industry by identifying ten economic growth poles on the country’s territory. “Complex development is needed for this program to be successful. We need to ensure macroeconomic stability, to improve the business climate and to increase the training level of specialists and workers,” said expert Ion Tornea, who is one of the authors of the program.
Processing Industry Employers Association director Marin Ciobanu said the districts that at the first stage will not be identified as growth poles will also gain as a result of the implementation of this program as they will supply products to the ten industrial market houses that will be built inside the growth poles. “There will also be developed clusters. We have a law on cluster development in Moldova, but not much was done at practical level,” he stated.
The National Program of Economic Development by Reindustrialization was drafted with support from the German Agency for International Cooperation GIZ.
