The national public health service will be reorganized based on a unification model and will have three levels: central, national-coordinating and regional. The model was approved in a meeting staged by the Ministry of Health, which involved representatives of bodies working in the area of public health, IPN reports.
According to the authorities from the field, the restructuring of the public health service includes the concentration of powers, resources and professional potential existing at regional level, which would allow providing public health services in a relatively uniform and equitable way. Another objective is to strengthen and facilitate the process of identifying, monitoring and analyzing the public health indicators.
The working group constituted by the Ministry of Health committed itself to further ensuring transparency in the restructuring process so as to contribute to drafting amendments to legal and normative documents concerning public health.
