New bomb threats at Supreme Court, Chisinau Airport

Staff and visitors to the Supreme Court of Justice have been evacuated this morning after bomb threats were made targeting the building, among a host of other locations.

The police said the threats came in at around 8:40 AM, triggering an immediate law enforcement intervention.

The threats also targeted the Chisinau Airport and eight other addresses in Chisinau. Checks are under way.

/UPD 3:59PM/ All Monday's threats turned out to be hoaxes eventually, the police reported. 

The number of fake bomb threats has surged over the last few months, with the Airport and courthouses being among the most frequent targets.

Making a hoax bomb threat is an offense punishable by a fine of up to 42,500 lei, up to 240 hours of community service, or up to 2 years in prison.
