President Nicolae Timofti on January 5 opens a new round of consultations with the parliamentary groups with a view to agreeing a candidate for Prime Minister. The President’s spokesman Vlad Turcanu has told IPN that the consultations were scheduled to start at 11am.
According to Vlad Turcanu, all the parliamentary parties were invited to the consultations, but it’s not known if all of them will delegate representatives to take part in the meeting with the head of state.
New consultations are needed after a large number of MPs boycotted the January 4 special siting of Parliament where they were to consider giving a vote of confidence to the Cabinet proposed by Ion Sturza.
