Radu Bezniuc was named director of the Civil Aviation Authority by a Cabinet decision on June 22, IPN reports.

According to Prime Minister Pavel Filip, Bezniuc has experience in the field. He worked as vice director of the Authority and contributed to the implementation of the European norms and standards in Moldova.

The post fell vacant after Mircea Meleca was dismissed for favoring a private airline by his actions.
