The villages and towns with touristic heritage and infrastructure for receiving and accommodating guests will obtain the status of tourist settlement. Such a provision is contained in a bill to amend and supplement the legislation on tourism that was approved by the Government, IPN reports.
The bill, which was drafted by the Tourism Agency, is aimed at improving and modernizing the legislation in the field in accordance with the market requirements. Thus, there will be drawn up the Tourism Satellite Account that will collect data about the costs associated with the accommodation, food and cultural services offered to tourists. The Account will provide exhaustive information to those who want to visit Moldova for planning the expenses. These will be able to learn more about Moldova as an attractive tourist destination.
The tourist routes and areas will be consolidated, including by offering broader information to potential tourists. Also, more routes will be created. There will be worked out a document that will regulate the work of tourist guides and will stipulate their rights, obligations and responsibilities.
Tourism Agency director general Stanislav Rusu said the changes and supplements will contribute to increasing the flow of tourists to Moldova and to improving control over it and tourist statistics in general.
