Fourteen health facilities of the country will receive video colonoscopy systems with all the necessary components and accessories for diagnosing, treating and operating patients with anemia, intestinal diseases or rectal and colon cancer, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Health, the medical devices will be distributed to the National Clinical Hospital, Emergency Medicine Institute, National Diagnosis Center, Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 1, Municipal Clinical Hospital “Saint Trinity” and the district hospitals of Edinet, Soroca, Balti, Ungheni, Orhei, Causeni, Comrat, Hancesti, and Cahul.
The video colonoscopy systems were received in 2013 through a non-project grant aid between the Government of Japan and the Government of Moldova. These cost about 17 million lei. Initially, the equipment was to be delivered to the Screening Centers in Balti and Cahul, but, as there were no financial resources for repairing the rooms, the medical devices have stayed at the Oncologic Institute until now.
