New members named at BCC

The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) has three new members. These are Corneliu Mihalache, Iulian Roșca and Lidia Viziru, who were appointed to posts in the December 14 sitting of Parliament, IPN reports.

According to the chairman of the Parliament’s commission on culture, education, youth, sport and the media Vladimir Hotineanu, the commission collected the files of the participants in the contest and conducted interviews with them. The three candidates were chosen to fill the three vacancies of BCC member.

Democratic MP Corneliu Mihalache served as a member of the BCC in 2006-2012, holding also the post of chairman of the Council. Lidia Viziru heads the Council’s Licensing and Authorization Division, while Iulian Roșca is the head of the Legal and Regulations Division of the BCC.

The members of the Broadcasting Coordination Council are named by Parliament decision at the suggestion of the specialized commission for a six-year term. The three posts became vacant after the terms in office of Iurie Colesnic, Cristina Duca and Olga Barbălată expired.
