New National Stadium will cost €30m
A sports complex may be built in Moldova over the next three years. The initiative was discussed in a meeting of the working group centering on the construction of the National Stadium on February 2, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Under the draft project, the complex will include a stadium with about 20,000 places for spectators, an area for guests and the press, an area for training, an artificial field for minifootball, a tennis pitch, a running track, a polyvalent hall of about 2,000 places, a swimming pool of 50 m, changing rooms, a hotel and a parking lot.
Experts said a plot of 10 hectares is needed for building the stadium and the whole infrastructure. The project costs €30 million.
The most important thing now is to find the suitable plot. There will be made a feasibility study and announced an international contest to find financing.
Minister of Youth and Sport Ion Cebanu said the state should allocate the plot where there is the old National Stadium to a foreign investor that will finance the construction of the sports complex. It may be erected on the periphery of the city.
