The plan for managing the Nistru hydrographic basin district for 2017-2022 was approved by the Cabinet. The document ensures the protection and sustainable use of water resources, IPN reports.

Among the set objectives are to reduce surface and underground water pollution, to improve the state of water resources, to promote the rational use of water, to create the National Park “Lower Nistru” and to cooperate with the Ukrainian side in ensuring the sustainable management of the Nistru River.

The given measures will contribute to conserving biodiversity and reducing costs for purifying water intended for consumption. The necessary financial resources will be allocated from the state budget and foreign funds.
