The maximum time allowed for local scholars’ participation in European and international research/development projects is 168 hours per month. The tax on income received from these activities will follow the legislation on the matter, according to the new payment rules approved by the Government, reports Info-Prim Neo. According to these norms, the maximum per-hour pay for the project coordinator’s scientific research services will be 320 lei. For the scientific coordinator of the project – 220 lei, for the person responsible for the implementation of work packages – 210 lei, and 190 lei for the project team members. If the project request European and international pay rates, they will be applied. President of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences Gheorghe Duca mentioned the level of participation of Moldovan researchers in European and international projects is increasing. Moldova’s adherence to the European research space, through the PC7 platform, allows scholars fully integrate to the world-wide scholar and businessman community, to participate in the establishment of priorities in innovation and development fields, which gradually stops the emigration of young skilled labor. According to Gheorghe Duca, the establishment of payment rules will bring order to the research field, and the corresponding income tax will increase the State Budget.
