New police cars procured

The Police received 52 new Dacia Duster cars purchased within the EU-supported "Budget Support for Police Reform" Program. The cars are worth around 20 million lei.

The General Police Inspectorate (IGP) said that all the new cars are equipped with modern monitoring systems (GPS) and are included in the national intervention system 112. The cars will be equipped shortly with secure communication devices and with other equipment necessary for professional police interventions.

The EU has supported the purchase of multiple special vehicles and equipment, such as vehicles for detainee transport, for crime investigation services, for district officers, mobile forensic laboratories for crime scene investigation, computer technology and peripheral means for investigation services and other special equipment needed to carry out police mission.
