The new prices and fees for postal services, which were earlier announced by Posta Moldovei (Moldova's Mail) to rise by an average 17 percent, will take effect on September 1, as stipulated in Friday's issue of the Official Gazette. Following the change, the delivery of a letter will cost from 1.2 to 22 lei, depending on its weight. The fee for the simplest letter is now 1 leu. Delivery of recommended letters and of packages with declared value will cost 3 lei over the standard fee. The delivery of print materials (newspapers, periodicals published in the country, books, brochures, etc) will cost from 0.9 lei to 17 lei. A postal card will cost 0.9 lei. The delivery of print materials to libraries and of periodicals for children to all subscribers will cost by 50 percent less. Posta Moldovei will charge a fee of 1.8 lei for the delivery of a small package , not heavier than 100g, and 17 lei for 2kg packages.
