New UNDP resident representative arrives in Moldova

Dima Al-Khatib, incoming UNDP resident representative to Moldova, has arrived in Chisinau. During a meeting with Moldova’s foreign minister Tudor Ulianovschi, Dima Al-Khatib praised the partnership between the United Nations Development Program and the Moldovan Government as effective.

The official stated she was willing to use her mandate to support Moldova in fulfilling its priority goals.

Dima Al-Khatib has more than 20 years of experience in the field of development.  She worked as policy and program coordinator at the UNDP Regional Hub for the Arab States in Amman, Jordan. She was also UNDP resident representative in Kuwait.

Dima Al-Khatib is replacing Dafina Gercheva, whose four-year term in Moldova expires in late March.

The United Nations Development Program works in nearly 170 countries and territories, including Moldova, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion. In Moldova, UNDP is guided by its Country Program Document, and the UN-Moldova Development Assistance for 2018-2022.
