President Nicolae Timofti, who leads Moldova’s delegation to the Riga Eastern Partnership Summit, voiced hope that Moldova will benefit from individual treatment. It is yet the delegations to the summit that will decide whether to adopt such a treatment or not, IPN’s correspondent in Riga reports.

In a meeting with the heads of delegations on May 21, Nicolae Timofti reiterated Moldova’s aspiration to join the European Union and transmitted the partners’ message that Moldova will be further supported in its European integration efforts.

The head of state believes that Moldova didn’t manage to submit a membership application to the EU this year owing to the conflict in Ukraine.

Riga hosts the EaP Summit on May 21-22.
