The whiteout and high winds left nine settlements in six districts and two streets in Chisinau without power. Liliana Puscasu, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, said that measures are being taken to reconnect them to the power supply, Info-Prim Neo reports. The nine settlements are from Hancesti, Causeni, Cahul, Basarabeasca, Cimislia, and Taraclia districts. Snow was forecast for January 25-27, in parts heavy. Thick layers of snow and ice will form on the roads.
