Nineteen local commissioners fail professional test

Nineteen commissioners of local police sections have not been confirmed to posts as they failed the professional test done by order of Minister of the Interior Victor Catan, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on January 12, Victor Catan said the 19 commissioners were unable to ensure public order and combat crime, violated the discipline at work, concealed offenses and did not make sure that the personnel work in strict compliance with the law. “The test was taken by managers of the central apparatus and of the subordinated subdivisions. Those who were not confirmed to posts will be offered other jobs in other commissariats. If they reached 50, they will be pensioned off. This way, we will have honest, non-corrupt and skilled employees at the Ministry of the Interior,” Catan said. The minister also said that the new administration of the Ministry has worked out new working regulations and the organizational structure of the institution that will include four new departments: the police department, the prosecution department, the civil protection, emergencies and carabineer troops department, and the subdivision administration service. Victor Catan also said that the former administration of the Ministry left fabricated cases, legal cases opened according to political criteria and cases of police abuse behind.
