In the morning of January 6, all roads in the country were passable and drivers travelled in winter conditions. Contacted by IPN, head of the operational service of the State Road Administration Sergiu Capatana said the precipitation that fell until morning didn’t create difficulties.

“It started to snow at 3am. The snowfall covered the southern area and is extending to the north. Now the snow reached Orhei district,” stated Sergiu Capatana.

Until 5am, 12 snowplows and special vehicles have been involved in snow removal works. There were spread 86 tonnes of antiskid material. If it continues to snow during the day, the number of snowplows will be increased.
