#NO to corruption in police force!

Representatives of the Police will organize meetings with citizens in localities to inform them about the risks of giving and taking bribe. The population will also be informed about the methods of reporting a situation of corruption. Also, police officers will be involved in training sessions and workshops centering on the preventing and fighting of corruption.

In a news conference, the chief of the General Police Inspectorate Alexandru Pînzari said a contest with the involvement of civil society and young people will be launched to formulate a view on the perception of corruption, with solutions for fighting this, IPN reports.

The official said the prevention measures are more efficient than the combating ones. Corruption could be reduced when society understands its negative consequences.

“By this campaign, we want to help the people realize that bribery is an offence that is punished harshly by law. We also want the police to realize that bribery is an offense that is penalized harshly,” stated Alexandru Pînzari.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, the number of cases of corruption that involved police employees in 2018 decreased by 40%. Also, the number of police officers who denounced corruption attempts rose.
