The notarial documents in Moldova will be validated by public notaries, not state notaries, private notaries and other authorized persons as at present. The given modification to the legislation was approved by the Government at its meeting on November 4, Info- Prim Neo reports. The post of state notary was instituted in 2002. There were created 49 state notary offices with 169 employees. A sum of 7 million lei was allocated early from the state budget for maintaining them. According to Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase, the approved amendments will guarantee the liberty of the profession of notary. The working state notaries will continue work as public notaries in the same areas.
