Oberliht Association presents nonconformist video program

The Oberliht Association of Young Plastic Artists of Moldova is holding the first Kiosk showing tomorrow, October 24. The films are about Russian young contemporary art groups that are unknown to the Moldovan public. Their activity will be presented in the context of the contemporary art-activism-action-fact-gesture intersection problem. The event forms part of the Kiosk project, which is designed to develop European cooperation and cultural exchange. In parallel, there will be launched the Oberliht supplement – the SdU journal, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a press release from the organization. The video program is divided into three parts. The first is dedicated to Monstration – a method of promoting contemporary art by involving persons from outside arts. The second part centers on protests, while the third – on artistic activities taking place in different public areas. The films are in Russian, subtitled in German or English. Access is free of charge. “I think that contemporary street art is the art that is not affiliated to institutions. It aims to extend the public space and communication between sections of the contemporary society and its institutions,” said Vadim Lundu, coordinator of the Kiosk project. He stressed that this fact contributes to the authentication of the democratization of the social institutions and to the development of the civil society, including of Moldova. He referred to such forms of art as art-action, space-occupying art, picketing art, demonstration art, revolution art. The Kiosk international project is a cultural information and public participation platform aimed at promoting contemporary art and the culture of young people in the public space.
