A person died, while three went missing when a SMURD helicopter crashed in Cantemir district in the afternoon of June 2. The helicopter with the four crew members was flying to Cahul to take a patient.

Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan said the helicopter exploded in the air and fell down near Haragis village of Cantemir district, about 100 meters from a local food. Firemen were on the spot immediately. The three persons who are missing are being looked for.

The crew was returning from Chisinau after transporting a patient from Vulcanesti to a hospital in the capital city this morning.
