One more deputy education minister to be named
The Ministry of Education will have one more deputy minister, Premier Vlad Filat said after paying a visit to the institution on April 5. He did not give names, saying the third deputy minister is needed as the reforms implemented at the Ministry must be completed successfully, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Among the responsibilities of the new deputy minister will be to implement the e-Governance program. Vlad Filat avoided saying which of the parties will field a candidate for this post.
In another development, the Prime Minister said the Government is to approve a new Education Code by April 15. Among the topics discussed during the visit to the Ministry were the optimization of the work of the education institutions, ensuring of children’s security in schools and kindergartens, creation of a reform supervision committee.
Minister of Education Mihai Sleahtitski, who was proposed for the post by the PLDM, said the Ministry has enough financial resources to implement the reforms planned for this year. A sum of 1.5 billion lei will be allocated from the state budget for the purpose.
