“Pro Ortodoxia” said that only one ruling politician with pro-homosexual positions remained and this is Prime Minister Vlad Filat. The organization’s leader Ghenadie Valuta told a news conference that the Premier tries to mislead the people with ‘putrid’ arguments, saying that Moldova will remain poor if it does not adopt the Antidiscrimination Law, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Ghenadie Valuta said that the changes made to the initial antidiscrimination bill are cosmetic. If the bill is passed, the homosexuals and other sexual minorities will ask to be allowed to organize parades and will then want to marry and adopt children.
The leader of “Pro Ortodoxia” stated that the Communist Party has long ago said that it is against this bill. The chairman of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu also said that he does not support it. Last week, the Democratic leader Marian Lupu spoke about this bill with reserve, saying it can be adopted without the phrase ‘sexual orientation”.
According to Ghenadie Valuta, before the elections of 2009 Vlad Filat said that he was against this bill. Two years later, he stated yet that the people are misinformed and that they did not read the bill. “Vlad Filat and his pro-homosexual slaves try to mislead us with different ‘putrid’ arguments, treating us like fools,” said Valuta.
He also said that 9 of the 42 countries that have a visa-free regime with the EU did not accept this law, while in some states the homosexuality is punished. “It seems that senior government officials received large sums of money from European homosexuals and are ready to any act of intimidation, misinformation and even human crime in order to remove those who oppose this law,” stressed Ghenadie Valuta.
The chairman of the youth movement “Voievod” Nicolae Pascaru told the same news conference that he does not want the current Parliament to enter history with such a stain. If the bill is adopted, the teachers and educators in kindergartens and schools may speak about sexual orientation to children. It’s not right to treat the homosexuals in the same way as the persons with disabilities and other social groups described in the bill.
The head of the Youth Government of Gagauzia Nina Dimoglo said many experts consider that chaos can arise if this bill is passed. She believes that a solution is to hold a referendum on this bill.
The Ministry of Justice last week announced that the improved form of the antidiscrimination bill was submitted to the competent institutions for approval.
