Over 1,000 soldiers to march in central Chisinau on Independence Day

More than 1,000 soldiers and 65 military units of transport will take part in the parade that will mark 20 years of the proclamation of Moldova’s independence. Over 9 million lei was earmarked for the August 27 parade that will take place in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau. The military men will have a new uniform and a new marching pace, Info-Prim Neo reports. Prime Minister Vlad Filat Friday visited the military camp No. 142 to see how the preparations for the parade go on. “There is yet a lot of work to be done, but I’m sure that the parade will be of top quality,” said the Premier. Colonel in reserve Ion Panici said all the types of munitions and military vehicles owned by the National Army will be presented during the parade. “The different marching step is the new element of the parade,” said the colonel. On August 27, it will be 20 years of the declaration of Moldova’s independence.
