Over 100m lei more for paying benefits
The Government will allocate an additional 112.8 million lei for paying benefits in November and December, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“A sum of 98.5 million lei was earmarked in the budget for paying social allowances during the cold period of the year. As the prices of energy resources and the consumer prices have increased, we decided to increase this sum,” said Prime Minister Vlad Filat.
The Premier stressed that this Government Decision will be submitted to Parliament immediately. If at least one fourth of the MPs do not file a censorship motion during 72 hours, the decision is considered adopted and will take effect when published.
Under the bill, 521,000 persons with pensions of under 900 lei, 30,000 deprived families and 60,000 budget-funded employees with salaries lower than 700 lei will receive by 130 lei a month in assistance during the cold period of the year.
Under another Government Decision, the spending in education will be raised by 36.6 million lei. The money will be used to cover the heating costs in dormitories. The agriculture subsidization fund will be increased by 100 million lei. 103 million lei will go to build houses for flood victims, while 103 million lei for restoring the infrastructure in the flood-hit settlements. About 4 million lei will be used to pay the state contribution for the Social Dwelling Project financed by the Council of Europe Development Bank.
The state budget expenditure will increase by 426.3 million lei.
