Over 194,000 persons got compensated drugs in December

The National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) transferred about 91.6 million lei to the contracted pharmacies for compensated medicines and medical devices released last December. Over 194,000 people received free pharmaceutical preparations, IPN reports.

Most of the money, about 48 million lei, was allocated for preparations for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, followed by oral antidiabetics, injectables and insulin analogues, worth about 18 million lei, and compensated medicines for the treatment of children in day care, to the value of over 3.6 million lei.

For compensated medical devices, CNAM transferred approximately 5.1 million lei. About 17,000 people with diabetes benefited from medical devices for checking blood sugar levels, while 443 persons got stoma bags.

The prescriptions for compensated medicines and medical devices are valid in all pharmacies contracted by CNAM all over the country.
