More than 200 persons were arrested at Moldova’s border in the first quarter of this year over different violations. According to the Border Guard Service, 64% of the violations were attempts to cross the border for personal purposes or to visit the relatives, Info-Prim Neo reports. There were discovered 24 cases of smuggling. 2,751 persons were not allowed to cross the state border for different legal reasons. The Border Guard Service says that 131 Moldovan citizens that illegally crossed Ukraine’s state border with Hungary, Slovakia and Poland, were returned home – a 67.5% decrease year on year.
