Over 31,000 packs of cigarettes found at border with Romania

Inspectors of the Calinesti border guards post discovered more than 31,000 packets of contraband cigarettes near the state border, not far from Chetris-Tabara village. The cigarettes were to be smuggled to Romania, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Border Guard Service. The cigarettes were found in a wooded area during an operation aimed at combating cigarette smuggling. The packs were hidden in a hardly accessible place. The contraband was seized and transmitted to the Falesti Police Commissariat. Investigations are conducted to identify all the persons involved in this case.
